Choman Hardi was born in Iraqi Kurdistan just before her family fled to Iran. She returned home at the age of five, but when she was 14 the Kurds were attacked with chemical weapons, and her family was forced back into exile. About the Author
Choman Hardi has published three books of poetry in Kurdish, but now writtes in English, and life for us is her first English collection. She studied philosophy and psychology at Oxford and later at University of Kent on the mental health of Kerdish Women refugees between the clash of cultures.
